"Gotham" season 2 was dubbed as the "Rise of the Villains," hence, the sneak peeks of the baddies that will be coming to Gotham. However, let us not forget that there are still important characters in the series, just like Alfred Pennyworth, who is now played by Sean Pertwee.
In the previous iterations of Batman, many will see Alfred's character as a simple valet aiding the billionaire Bruce Wayne. However, "Gotham" will be taking a different angle, showing fans how Wayne and Pennyworth developed their strange relationship.
Pertwee teases things about his character and what will happen in "Gotham" season 2.
1. "Gotham's" Alfred has a military background.
"That was what was so intriguing about the part," Pertwee said, according to GoErie.com. "This isn't a case of reinventing a role but giving the character some subtext."
"If the richest man in the world gives the only man he trusts his greatest asset — his son — why would an East Ender be working for him?" he continued. "It's because of his military past."
2. Alfred will be become the young Bruce Wayne's, by David Mazouz. dark Arts teacher.
Pertwee said that "Gotham" season 2 will show more of how Alfred's involvement in teaching Wayne how to fight without a use of firearms and not to kill.
3. "Gotham" season two will reveal Alfred's involvement on how Wayne became a Dark Knight.
They may have disagreements right now, but once they get pass that, fans will learn how Alfred's character becomes more involved in the process of turning Wayne into a Dark Knight.
How is Pennyworth going to do that? The mystery will unravel once "Gotham" returns for its season 2 on Fox.
