‘Pirates Of The Caribbean 5’ [NEWS]: ‘Stop Re-Casting Elizabeth!’ Disappointed Fans Say No To Re-Cast Keira Knighley’s Character; Absence Much Better?

Excitement is extremely high for the upcoming Disney movie, "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales." While many fans anticipate Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom's return as Captain Jack Sparrow and Will Turner respectively, some are saddened about the absence of Keira Knightley's character, Elizabeth Swann, in the movie's fifth installment.

Speaking of Elizabeth, avid "Pirates" fans took to the IMDB page of "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" to express their reactions about the rumors suggesting the re-casting of Keira Knightley's character, who was the love interest of Will Turner. Based on their reactions, fans said it's better if the character will not appear at all than letting another actress take the role.

"I'd rather she didn't appear at all than was re-cast, no matter who took over the role," a fan commented. "Part of what made Elizabeth so good was Keira's young, sassy, kick-ass approach. I don't know that anyone could replicate that."

Another fan also said that "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" can either get Keira Knightly back or the movie will convincingly incorporate an explanation about her character's absence.

"I'm tired of seeing people suggesting recasting her," another fan wrote. "I personally can't stand it when a character is recast, and Elizabeth is no exception. As one of the main characters in the first three films, I'd be very annoyed to see the character return but played by a different actor. Either get Keira back or explain her absence in a believable way."

Unfortunately, Keira Knightley had already said that she won't be coming back to the film franchise. And while Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner's love story has been the main focus of the original trilogy and has been intertwined from the start, Turner will carry on without Elizabeth on "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales."

"My time has definitely passed, I loved it, it was an amazing experience but I won't be going back," Knightley said, as previously reported.

Meanwhile, "Pirates" director Joachim Ronning recently teased fans by sharing an Instagram photo taken from the editing room of the film. The photo earned several comments from truly excited fans.

"Master Barton and Captain Barbossa facing off in the editing room #postproduction #pirates5," he captioned the photo.

In other news, 23-year-old actress Kaya Scodelario, who plays Carina Smyth in "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales," has hinted that the sequel will bring back some of the fan-favorite elements featured in the first film, which was released in 2003, Christian Today noted.

"[The producers] want to take it back to the beginning again," Scodelario said. "They wanted it to have this epic journey, and for it to make sense, and for it to tie things up, and also lead to new storylines."
