Michael Schumacher 2015 [UPDATE]: No Hope For F1 Superstar’s Recovery? Slow Progress Pushes Family To Give Up Fight

Michael Schumacher is currently undergoing an extensive rehabilitation program at the comforts of his home in Geneva, Switzerland. Unfortunately, reports about his condition have remained elusive due to the ongoing media blackout requested by his family. But now, latest rumors circulated that the Schumachers is on the verge of giving up because of the slow progress in the former Formula One champ's health.

In December 2013, seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher shocked the world when he sustained serious head injuries during an unfortunate skiing accident at the French Alpine Resort of Meribel. And after waking up from a medically induced coma last June, Schumacher is now reportedly under the extensive care of 15 medical experts 24/7 in his home, where a state-of-the-art medical suite was custom built.

Up until now, the horrific skiing accident has continued to plague Michael Schumacher and his family. As a matter of fact, there were reports claiming that the family is already giving up due to Michael's slow rehabilitation improvements. As previously reported, the family of the 46-year-old F1 superstar was reportedly struggling with $154,000 (£100,000) per week rehabilitation costs, which have already exceeded $15 million (£10 million).

Nearly two years have passed now since Michael Schumacher's skiing accident but his family still prefers their privacy on this matter. That's why, there's hardly any news on this front. And according to The Bit Bag, recent reports have showcased some issues of his weight and treatment costs while comments from Maurizio Arrivabene, Lewis Hamilton and Jean Todt have been interpreted negatively.

Furthermore, Michael Schumacher's current recovery looks extremely slow even though he's being treated at a highly-secured facility where only close family members and friends are allowed to visit apart from medical staff. Any unauthorized communication is strictly prohibited. And despite these challenges and struggles, the family is not willing to give up, as they believe that his full recovery is possible, MNR Daily noted.

"Michael is a close friend, his family is very close to me, and I'm very close to them as well," Schumacher's close friend Jean Todt said of the racer's condition, as per Independent. "I see Michael very often, and Michael is still fighting, and we must keep fighting with the family."

Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm had also previously revealed that Michael's condition is improving.

"We are happy to say he still does improvement and I say this always considering the severeness of the injury he had," Kehm said during an interview. "But of course it will take a very long time for everybody involved to fight, and we are happy to take this fight."

While Michael Schumacher's current medical condition is recovering at a "snail's pace," as Australia News Network reported, his family is still in full support and remains hopeful for his full recovery.
