Astonishingly, new survey revealed that unemployment rate in Kansas City area dropped at 3.9%, a clear indication that job seekers can find a job if they want to.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimated that unemployment rate in the Kansas City dropped at 3.9% in Nov, compared to 4.2% in Oct and 4.8% in Nov last year. The data was released on Wednesday, according to The Kansas City Star.
The new data is a typical benchmark for full employment, regardless of the available job- part time or has less pay, paid benefits such as subsidized health insurance - this is a clear indication that people can still find a job if they want to work.
The report showed that Kansas City area have an increased of employers as they found out that that there are 12,300 payroll jobs have been added since Nov 2104 to Nov 2015, showing that it increased around 1.2% over the past 12 months, putting the nonfarm payrolls at 1,046,100.
For the nonfarm employment for the Kansas City, it appeared that it has dramatically fall from Oct to Nov this year. According to nonseasonally adjusted tables, employers dropped about 1,200 payroll jobs over the month. But based on the calculation on a seasonally adjusted tables, there were a larger dropped as it showed that the figured at a loss of 2,200 jobs.
The survey was done through questioning households in Kansas City. But the unemployment report does not consider the quality of a person's job. Residents were only questioned if they are currently working or looking for a job in the time period studied.
Other metro areas included on the survey for Kansas are Topeka had a 3.5% unemployment rate; Lawrence, 2.9%; Wichita at 4% and Manhattan at 2.6%. While on the Missouri side, the jobless rate in Columbia estimated at 2.8%; St Joseph, 3.8% and Jefferson City 3.4%.
