Taylor Swift supports Kesha as the pop star has been battling to be released from her legal contract bonded by Dr. Luke. In a show of support, Swift has offered $250,000 financial donation as assistance.
The "Tik Tok" singer has been facing legal challenges against Dr. Luke after reporting she has been sexually and physically abused. However, the first of many challenges the singer has encountered was a legal set back after the court denied her request to be released from her contract despite the sexual assault lawsuit. Kesha was seeking a preliminary injuction that would allow her to release music without Dr. Luke's authority, but the judge who heard her legal case has denied this request.
Fans showed support for Kesha during her show-up in court with banners and boards asking for Kesha to be freed. Taylor Swift has also been added to the pop-star's list of supporters. To make sure she has most of her financial bases covered, the singer has extended her hand and a wad of cash.
"In a show of support, Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time," one of Taylor's spokesperson announced to E! News.
To express her joy and thanks, Kesha's mom tweeted out, using her social media handle @grannywrapper, her heart felt appreciation for Swift's assistance. "Taylor Swift has just generously donated $250,000 to Kesha, as a show of support during this difficult time.AMAZING!!" She said.
Several celebrities also showed their support. Artists such as Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande wanted the world to know that they have Kesha's back by speaking out on Kesha's behalf after her very emotional day in court. Lorde and Demi Lovato also sent positive messages to Kesha. Even Lady Gaga expressed how brave Kesha was during this difficult time.
