When the Beatles became a hit, it was George Martin's vision to step outside the boundaries of what was acceptable that helped make them special. He was called the man who changed pop forever, according to the Guardian.
Sadly, Sir George Martin recently died at the age of 90. The Beatles producer passed away peacefully at home in England, as reported by CNN. Adam Sharp, the founder of C.A. Management which represented Sir George Martin, described his career as one that spanned seven decades filled with creative talents. He added that he was a gentleman to the very end. "The family ask that their privacy be respected at this time," Sharp said.
His influence was heavy with the Beatles, being the most successful group in music history. He once had an interview with JazzWax about the group's success saying he didn't think much of the Beatles back in 1962, but they learned fast after Martin began his musical arrangements and experimentations that they soon turned into a hit.
Paul McCartney was saddened by this loss, calling him a second father. He went on to say that George Martin was always referred to as the fifth Beatle.
Ringo Starr also remembered Martin via his latest Twitter update. "God bless George Martin peace and love to Judy (Martin's wife of 50 years) and his family," he said.
Sir George Martin's son, Giles, also went online to celebrate his life, "Started out as my dad. Ended as my best friend. Love is all you need," he said.
