When Jared Leto got the call that he was going to play The Joker, he felt that it was a terrifying and exciting thing. At the same time an honor. During the production, he claimed it was the most fun he's ever had. "It was really the most fun I've ever had on a film in my life; I had a blast. It was a real honor to get asked to play the part. These characters are so special to people and I have a lot of respect for that," Leto explained.
Jared Leto as The Joker is a new kind of acting experience for him. The Academy Award-winning actor said that playing the "Clown Prince of Crime" was quite an enjoyable experience. Comic Book has it that while the rest of the "Suicide Squad" focused on the intensity and weirdness of the film, Jared Leto as The Joker just wanted to have a good time.
His portfolio of acting experiences have given him the chance to try on different roles. Wearing the iconic smile, make-up and "perky" attitude of the comic book character, maybe Jared Leto as The Joker felt "good to be bad."
"Suicide Squad" is a film about a team of the most wanted and dangerous incarcerated Super Villains. They were enlisted by the government to defeat an enemy. United States Intelligence officer Amanda Waller is determined to fight this threat off and is convinced that hiring the "Suicide Squad" was the best idea.
Will the "Suicide Squad" do what they're meant to do? Or are they going to fail and join the other side?
"Suicide Squad" will hit theatres on August 5, 2016.
