It could just well be a career suicide when Daniel Craig blurted out in social media that he'd rather cut his wrists than play Agent 007 in another James Bond movie.
Previously, it was Tom Hiddleston. Now, everyone is eyeing Aidan Turner for the job. Aidan Turner is an Irish actor who is best known for his role as Kíli in the three-part fantasy film "The Hobbit." He also starred as John Mitchell in the supernatural drama series "Being Human."
It was said that he will be the one to succeed Daniel Craig as the 007 agent. According to Standard, he's the next bet after Tom HIddleston said "I don't think that announcement is coming."
Everyone is betting on Turner to take the cake. Liam Glynn, a Boyle Sports spokesperson, "After suspending the betting on Tuesday due to a massive surge of support for Aidan Turner, that included a four figure bet at 2/5 to become the next James Bond, we have opened back up the market this morning but cut Turner into the red hot 1/5 favourite to be drinking his Martini's 'Shaken Not Stirred'."
Now that Hiddleston is out of the game, Glynn confirmed that Turner is already in talks with the James Bond producers. "There is no smoke without a fire and it certainly looks like Turner has been in negotiations with the Bond producers and it will be interesting to see how long we will be able to keep the market open for," he said.
This is a new career move for Aidan Turner if he takes that slice of James Bond pie. It was said that other actors were considered for the role, aside from Tom Hiddleston. Men such as Idris Elba and Tom Hardy were also crowd favorites. But only the James Bond crew can have the final say.
