Many NBA teams have made big trades this summer but even with just a few weeks into this new season, there are still NBA trade rumors buzzing around the league. Rumors have it that Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul might go to the Cleveland Cavaliers and team up with Lebron James. With Golden State having its star-studded team this year, there's a possibility that Cleveland might make their own too.
In a report by the iSports Times, these NBA trade rumors of Paul joining his best buddy James could possibly happen next year. Paul, 31, isn't getting any younger and is still without a ring since joining the Los Angeles Clippers back in 2011. He'll also be an unrestricted free agent in 2017 so joining the Cavaliers might be his best shot at winning a championship.
He is considered by many as one of the purest point guards in the league having a career average of 9.9 assists per game. With that, it appears that he and Kyrie Irving wouldn't have chemistry issues, with Irving being a two guard, if both of them play at the same time.
NBA trade rumors are also spreading that Carmelo Anthony would be joining the Cavs, according to Cleveland.com. The 13-year veteran is also ringless after many seasons with the New York Knicks. The Knicks might have a shot of getting into the playoffs this year with Derrick Rose, Kristaps Porzingis and Joakim Noah in the roster. But Anthony once expressed that he'd thought about leaving the Knicks according to Fox Sports.
James once told Bleacher Report saying that he'd love to play alongside Paul, Anthony and Wade before their careers are over. Having Dwyane Wade on the Cavs might be a longshot now but it's not too late for Paul and Anthony and have these NBA trade rumors materialize.
These players were part of the 2008 Olympics USA Men's basketball team which means that they've been really good friends. These NBA trade rumors aren't far from happening with the kind of relationship that these players have.
