There were speculations circulated that "The Young and the Restless" had a franchise cancellation. On its 44 seasons, IMDb users have given the show a low rating of 5.2 out of 10. Perhaps, it could be the reason of show's franchise cancellation.
According to WaitWith, it was stated that the long-running TV series did not confirm about the said cancellation. "Thanks for being a fan! As of today (Sunday, November 13), there is still no word on the development of season 45 of The Young and the Restless but it will be revealed on this page once there is an official premiere date."
Though the current rating of "The Young and the Restless" is fairly low, it was reported that the show has already a contract with CBS to continue its episode through 2017. Besides, diehard fans wanted to have more episodes to be watched.
