According to GameNGuide, Carter Matt suggested that this could possibly the last season of the show though "Hawaii Five-O" season 7 had already started filming new episodes. In addition, it was reported that the possible reason of "Hawaii Five-O" season 7 was about to end due to poor ratings.

Since "Hawaii Five-O" changed its timeslot to Friday, ratings kept spiraling down. As the news released, CBS was disappointed on its rating as it was rumored that the said network dropped the show. Though many speculations were circulated online, there were no confirmations yet about the said cancellation.
