On a previous report, it was revealed that 'Best Actor' awardee, Johnny Depp would be playing the role of Grindelwald. The 53-year old actor would have its surprise scene at the end of "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them". The filmmakers of the sci-fi movie revealed the reason why Johnny Depp would be playing Grindelwald's role.
On an exclusive interview with People with David Heyman, veteran "Harry Potter" producer he revealed the reasons why did they cast Johnny Depp on "Fantastic Beast and Where To Find Them."
"Why did we cast him? Because he's iconic. He's an iconic actor and we needed an iconic actor to play this part", Heyman said at the "Fantast Beast and Where To Find Them" premiere at New York City's Lincoln Center. "Johnny's created two or three iconic people, people who are unforgettable. He makes choices, and that was really, really important.", he added. Indeed, Johnny Depp is known for his iconic role. "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them" is currently showing at theaters nationwide.
