Alec Baldwin seems to notice that America missed him a lot last week, so he has returned for the first time since the election day. He opened the weekend show as Donald Trump, who was busy having a meeting with a range of people. As per USA Today, the brash candidate has been replaced by some stressed president-elect who is backing off from his promises during the time of his campaign. This includes the deportation of all immigrants, repealing Obamacare, and creating coal mining jobs.
Baldwin's portrayal of Trump's character shows how unprepared Trump is for the job of being a president. When Kellyanne Conway (Kate McKinnon), a general and campaign staffer, asks about his secret plan how to defeat ISIS, Trump responds by a quick online search, "What is ISIS?"
According to The New York Times, on Sunday, Trump responded to the show, expressing his dismay using social media. He tweeted and said "I watched parts of Saturday Night Live.'" The President-elect called the show "totally one-sided and biased show - nothing funny at all. Equal time for us?"
Late Sunday, Baldwin responded to Trump's tweet using his Foundation's twitter account and replied "Equal time? The election is over. There is no more equal time." He then continued, "Now you try to be president and people responded. That is pretty much it."
Alec Baldwin hinted he would still continue playing the character of Donald Trump on the upcoming episode of the show. He fired another comment and wrote, "I could go on. You want more advice, call me. I'll be at SNL."
