Rejoice fans! "Scandal" is soon to be back in the ABC scene with more exciting political issues coinciding with personal affairs of the characters, to watch out for. Olivia Pope will again stir emotions with her unpredictable political career at the start of 2017.
It's indeed a new year with all-new and fresh episodes of Pope's journey as she decided to turn her back against Fitz and help his ex-wife Mellie Grant's presidential candidacy. The season is said to bear more thrilling events which will revolve around the elections which in fact, will reveal the results on the premiere itself, as per News Everyday.
Mellie's victory, though left to be confirmed, was said to be also revealed by the hint on the show's poster uploaded on Instagram. On the poster, a catchy caption stated "The balance of power is about to shift" which according to Chatt Sports Net, might be referring to a sudden change of allies in the series.
Fans may also expect more arguments and conflicts as Mellie chose Jake Ballard as her VP running mate. Ballard is the ex-lover of Olivia Pope who is now the love interest of Fitz. Thus, having him on Olivia's side will stir up anger on Fitz Grant, a conflict that shouldn't be missed.
Meanwhile speculations also ascend that Mellie might have been backing out from her presidential race. As seen on the trailer, the Virginia Senator and Republican candidate said she was over the presidential race. Olivia stopped her and said she still isn't finished yet, which had the other stunned.
Another thing to rejoice over is the confirmation of a Season 7! Yes, and it was from the shows' brilliant writer Shonda Rhimes herself. New Everyday also reported that according to Rhimes, the beginning of the "Scandal" is certainly not yet the end, hence giving a huge hint for the possibility of a next season. The "Scandal" season 6 premiere is set to be aired night of January 19, 2017 on ABC.
