From the first "Resident Evil" installment in 1996 to 2014's remastered version of "Last of Us," PlayStation has been a haven for graphic third-person zombie survival games. Proving that zombies are still one of the fashionable genres for games, PlayStation 4 expects the entrance of the upcoming new franchise - "Days Gone".
Zombies have been featured as the chosen villain and environment by the mainstream entertainment media for the last ten years. Aside from video games, this is also true in television and movies. Shows like "The Walking Dead" are finding ways to create something unique to extend its 'tenure demand' among fans.
Speaking of long-running zombie franchise, Jobs & Hire reports the upcoming release date of "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard." This third-person zombie survival game is also to make its debut by PlayStation 4 console.
"Days Gone" has the potential to be the next best thing to a third-person zombie survival console game, as reported by Den of Geek. This game is created by Sony (SIE) Bend, the same developer of "Syphon Filter" franchise that was popular in PlayStation from 1999 to 2001.
"Days Gone" Background
This zombie apocalypse game is centered on the life of a biker-turned-mercenary named Deacon St-John. The developers have not officially shed light on the details of the story but as far as the earlier trailer release is concerned, Deacon's only main objective is to thrive in a global infestation reminiscent of a 'sole-survivor' theme from a 2007 film "I am Legend."
What Makes "Days Gone" Special?
Since this game is allegedly non-linear in its storyline approach, players are expected to 'think outside the box.' A report by Game Time Reviews underscore the relatively unique game mechanics of using the environment to either kill or slow down a horde of zombies. Apart from sophisticated physics and advanced freerunning movement, Deacon will be facing different types of unique undead - most with its own AI.
