Winter animes of 2017 is now coming to town and with the long list of anime that will premier in January, one came up on top, "Blue Exorcist" Second Season entitled "Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga". The second season of the hit anime series will adapt the 'Kyoto Impure King Arc' which started in the 5th volume of the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Kazue Kato.
Its been 5 years since the initial airing of the first season of the anime and now, Satan's twin sons are back to bust some demons. In season 2, they will face a new problem where the left eye of the Impure King was stolen from the secret vaults of the True Cross Academy. The eye, according to MNG, is an ancient artifact that if rejoined with its other pair will bring back the Impure King Fuju-oh who killed thousands of people during the 19th century.
Rin Okumura together with his classmates will then tasked to go to Kyoto and retrieve the eye at all cost. They will soon encounter the ones who are behind the plot to revive the Impure King. Season two will also feature more of the two potential leading ladies, Shiemi and Izumo, who are highlighted in the recent TV ads of "Blue Exorcist" Season 2.
Ryugi Suguro and his family will also play a huge role in the upcoming season. Ryugi apparently is an heir to a shrine in Kyoto and his family is tasked to protect the Left Eye of the Impure King.
Regarding the staffs for the anime, Anime News Network reported that, Koichi Hatsumi will replace Tensai Okamura as the director of the new series that will be published by A-1 Pictures. Toshiya Ono will take charge of the series composition and replace Ryota Yamaguchi. Keigo Sasaki will return and design the characters. He will also be the chief animation director alongside Akira Takata.
"Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga" recently topped Kadokawa's list of the most anticipated winter anime of 2017. The anime is scheduled to air in January 7, 2017.
