The latest major installment of the "Assassin's Creed" franchise was released in October and November 2015 for console and PC versions respectively. Ever since the "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate," Ubisoft Entertainment postponed releasing another major installment for 2016. The intended 10th key episode, "Assassin's Creed: Empire" is moved for 2017.
Why Ubisoft Skipped Year?
An official story by Jobs & Hire underscores the emphasis on releasing "Watchdog 2" to mark as one their finest finale productions 2016. But Ubisoft Entertainment makes no secret that "Assassin's Creed: Unity" was such a disappointment that it nearly killed the entire franchise.
As per an article by Digital Spy, their 8th major episode for the franchise is riddled with so many system bugs that the next four installments did little to nothing in rectifying the damage to the reputation of "Assassin's Creed." In fact, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot officially stated that they are willing to spend an entire year or more to do alpha testing before announcing the next "Assassin's Creed" installment.
Intense Fan Enthusiasm
Due largely in part of the excitement of avid fans, it has become harder to speculate whether the 2017 release date for "Assassin's Creed: Empire" is just another wildfire speculation or a solid info. A comprehensive report by PC Advisor underscores how one participant in a 4Chan forum claims to be one of the anonymous developers of Ubisoft Entertainment.
Background Story
Set in Ancient Egypt, "Assassin's Creed: Empire" features a synopsis preceding the centuries-old rivalry between the Assassins and the Templars. During this Early Classical period, a renegade slave will defy the status quo and roam the entire stretch of the pharaoh's Golden Empire with his trusty eagle companion.
As per the testimony by the anonymous Ubisoft insider, "Assassin's Creed: Empire" provides an accurate historical account to the events that preceded the rise of the world's two most powerful secret organizations. Essentially, this upcoming installment could rightfully dub itself as 'the mother of all Assassin's Creed franchise.
