"Westworld" Season 1 wrapped up early last Sunday, answering the questions that trolled the audience in the whole season. But the upcoming Season 2, more questions are bound to be answered as it would deal with more chaos and mayhem.
However, "Westworld" Season 2 will not be released until March 2018. Co-creator Jonathan Nolan revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that "[the show] will spend a little bit more time next season shining a light on those aspects of the park - what does it feel like to come to it as a guest? - Just a little bit before the mayhem starts."
Speaking with Variety (via The Independent), "Westworld" showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy said that they don't want to follow television's one-year tradition on introducing new seasons. They want to get the season right as HBO encouraged them to take all the time and resources they need to produce a successful season awaited by fans. Joy also confirmed that the show's production is ongoing, and it is being productive and ambitious already.
Speaking of spoilers, at the Dubai International Film Festival, actor Jeffrey Wright told the Hollywood Reporter that while the first season was about creating order, "Westworld" season 2 would be about mayhem and chaos. Actor Liam Hemsworth added that the first season was just an intro, an appetizer as such and that the buffet would be served in Season 2 as the world expands. Hemsworth also confirmed the samurai world revealed in the finale by saying it is attractive and that he loved that idea.
Of course, with the parks' co-founder Anthony Hopkins (Robert Ford) shot by Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) Rachel who is embracing her inner Wyatt, concluded the finale with subduing a fire on a host of humans. Lisa Joy confirms that now "the safety switch is off" other hosts are already capable of hurting humans too.
Also confirmed on TV Line, the other hosts shown in the finale are not like Dolores and that they are stored in a cold storage that made them retired enough to be as evolved like Dolores is now. Felix is actually not a host as Nolan had said because of his kind-hearted nature. Lastly, he confirmed that fans would actually see lots of flies next season, but not actual ones though.
