The long awaited "Naruto" live action movie has been confirmed! Naruto Uzumaki dominates the screen as Kishimoto, manga creator, announces the confirmation of the Hollywood movie adaptation of the popular manga series.
At last signed by Hollywood production, Lionsgate, the movie was entrusted in Michael Gracey’s hands who has accomplished great things with his director career. Fans wonder, will he succeed in making the popular manga come to life?
Gizmodo stated that “The Greatest Showman” was also directed by Gracey which makes the fans assume that the visual effects and animation will not disappoint them. The Lionsgate studio will be the one in charge of film rights to the “Naruto” series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto, first published in 1997 with 10 movies produced and ongoing “Naruto Shippuden” series up to date.
Meanwhile, Comic Book stated that Avi Arad and his son Ari Arad will also be included in the production through Arad Productions. While the other studio staffs would include Erik Feig, Geoff Shaveitz, and Kelly O’Malley.
Since Hollywood has no spectacular track record in anime adaptations like “Dragonball Z” and “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” fans are dreading that the movie would also come sour. Well, to watch is to believe. In addition, Hollywood’s movie adaptation this upcoming 2017 “Ghost in The Shell” still receives many positive reviews despite cast decision controversies regarding Scarlet Johansson. So it might not be the end of Japanese manga to Hollywood movie adaptations. Yet.
Gizmodo also stated that despite the tense on fans expecting a better Hollywood adaptation of the series, in addition, they could experience a better spin-off of "Naruto." Kishimoto announced that after the “Naruto Shippuden” series, they will release the spin-off “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” which will focus on Naruto’s son, Boruto, who doesn’t want to follow his dad’s path of being Hokage. Sarada, Mitsuki, and the gang will also join Boruto in this spin-off series to be released in 2017. While the movie to be released also this upcoming year 2017.
Kishimoto also stated that his goal would be to make the spin-off series “better than Naruto.”
