WWE 2K15 Release Date and Rumors: Game Could Be Delayed Until March To Coincide With Goldberg’s WrestleMania 31 Return

Gamers who are eagerly awaiting the release of WWE 2K15 could wait longer than expected as reports indicated that 2K Sports is planning to delay the release of the latest edition of the popular wrestling game.

Multiple reports indicated that 2K Sports might miss the regular release window for WWE 2K15 with sources saying that the developer could move the release date to around March 2015.

No reasons were given about the alleged release date delay, but analysts believe that 2K Sports is looking to take advantage of "corporate synergy" during Wrestlemania season.

"The latest game in 2K's popular wrestling game franchise could see its already announced fall release date moved to around March 2014, allowing it to be released around the time of WrestleMania 31. This would allow the advantage of "corporate synergy" that annually happens for the WWE around WrestleMania season," WhatCulture reported.

Reports also indicated that 2K Sports want to release the game before or after WrestleMania 31, creating speculations the developer might also include WWE legend Bill Goldberg as the featured superstar in the upcoming game.

"The delay would also coincide nicely with WrestleMania 31, which would seem to match up with rumors that WWE and Take-Two would like to bring in Goldberg as this year's featured Superstar, and potentially as the headlining act for the 2015 Hall of Fame ceremony," Wrestlezone reported.

Goldberg, who was best known for his 173-straight victories in World Championship Wrestling, is reportedly in talks with WWE about a possible return.

According to sources, WWE wants Goldberg to appear in one more match at Wrestlemania 31, possibly against Ryback. Rumors about the Goldberg vs Ryback match also came out earlier this year before WrestleMania 30.

Another rumored feature of the WWE 2K15 is the "My Career" mode that will reportedly replace "30 Years of WrestleMania" mode. In the said game mode, a player will start out in NXT and work his way up to the main roster until he becomes a champion.

So far, WWE 2K15 is expected to be release for PS4 and Xbox One. 2K Sports has yet to announce whether or not they are planning to release the game again for PS3 and Xbox 360.
