We are still several months away from the release of WWE 2K15, but the game is already making a lot of noise as new features of the game continue to surface online.
The upcoming wrestling video game is expected to have a more playable characters compared to last year's edition, and one of the most popular WWE superstars - CM Punk - will still be featured in the game.
There have been doubts about whether or not CM Punk will be in the game after he walked out of the company earlier this year, and has yet to return to the show.
CM Punk was last featured in WWE's Royal Rumble pay-per-view event. He went missing the day after the event. No official reasons were revealed, but sources indicated that the superstar wanted to take a long hiatus.
But despite his sudden disappearance, CM Punk is still arguably one of the most-loved personalities in the wrestling franchise, which is the reason why WWE is expected to take advantage of his popularity.
"Punk currently being under contract with the company, there is a possibility that they absolutely could use his likeness in the game and feel no repercussions other than the fact that they'd be featuring someone in their video game that walked out on them," FanSided noted.
The developer has yet to release an official roster, but they previously announced that superstars John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Cesaro, Roman Reigns, and with NXT wrestlers will be in the game along with the legendary Hulk Hogan.
Aside from the star-studded roster, the next-gen features of the game are stirring excitement to gamers.
This year's wrestling game is expected to be the best in the franchise - graphics wise - as 2K Sports is determined to duplicate the success of the NBA 2K series, which has been dominating the basketball video game scene over the past several years.
The characters in WWE 2K15 is expected to look like their real-life counterpart as 2K Sports are planning to utilize their advanced face detection technology, which they also used in creating NBA 2K15 for next-gen consoles.
"Next gen is the future and WWE is making its next gen debut with NBA 2K15," said Chris Snyder, the senior marketing director at 2K Sports. "Gamers and fans have been waiting generations for us to introduce the brand with this new level of excitement through Visual Concepts' pedigree."
WWE 2K15 will hit retailers on October 28 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
