Boxing News 2014: Amir Khan Wants to Face Kell Brook at Wembley Stadium

Amir Khan reiterated that he is ready to face fellow Briton Kell Brook in his next fight, and he wants the showdown to happen at the Wembley Stadium.

In an interview, Khan, who is looking for a big-money fight over the past several months, expressed confidence that a showdown with Brook will be big, saying that the fight could fill out the famous stadium because British fans have been anticipating the bout for quite some time.

"If the fight can happen, let's make it happen," Khan told BBC Radio as reported by BoxingScene. "I'm up for it. I think I'd like that in somewhere like Wembley Stadium, we can fill that out - that would be a quick sell. It's the fight that the UK fans want to see and have been talking about for such a long time."

Brook won the International Boxing Federation welterweight title via a majority decision win against Shawn Porter on Saturday at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Khan admitted that Brook has shown a lot of improvements on Saturday, but the Bolton, England native insisted that it won't make him think twice when given an offer to face the newly-crowned IBF welterweight champion.

"I will take the fight with both hands," Khan said via Sky Sports. "I am a young fighter. I love boxing and I want to give the British fans what they want and come on, let's get it on. I love these big fights. I know what it's like to have tasted them and what it's going to be like at Wembley. It would be amazing if we got it there in the UK."

Brook also called out Khan, saying that the former light welterweight champion should stop making excuses and give the fight fans the showdown that they are looking for.

"Listen, the British public want to see it" Brook said. "He will probably start saying something else now, that I need to win another world title. But believe me 'Queen' Khan is getting it. He's been putting things on Twitter, bless him, and he's been putting in 'best of luck', but I know he doesn't like me."

Khan, who scored a unanimous decision win against Luis Collazo in May, wants to fight again in December, and was initially considering Robert Guerrero and Devon Alexander as his next opponent.
