Nina Dobrev made a cameo on "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 finale. The former "TVD" star lend her voice for new material for the series
Business Standard reported that Damon Salvatore heard Elena Gilbert's voice in "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 finale. He was inside the Armory when he heard her ask for his help.
"Damon... Help me," Elena said. "I need you."
Nina Dobrev quit "The Vampire Diaries" after season 6. The actress explained last April that she was leaving to advance her career.
"I always knew I wanted Elena's story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime," she posted on Instagram. "I was a human, a vampire, a doppelganger, a crazy immortal, a doppelganger pretending to be human, a human pretending to be a doppelganger."
There were speculations that Nina Dobrev's "The Vampire Diaries" return is set for season 7. "TVD" showrunner Julie Plec did confirm the actress' highly-awaited comeback but it won't be until the series finale.
"It's what she and I kind of agreed on when she decided to move on, and it's what I've got in my head," Plec told TVLine. "Obviously things can change throughout time, if the show goes on longer than we expect it to, or if we all collectively decide it would be fun to bring her back earlier, and she wanted to."
"But in my opinion, she was very clear about what she wanted the next step in her life to be, and she's doing a great job of achieving that. So I'm sticking with my side of the plan, which is to bring her back at the very end."
With "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 confirmed, there is a possibility that Nina Dobrev's "TVD" return will be at the season's final episode. However, Plec has also made it clear that they would welcome the actress back with open arms any time she wants to return.
