Dylan O'Brien, an actor in the upcoming "Maze Runner 3" had experienced an accident during a stunt sequence that went wrong. He sustained several injuries. The "Maze Runner: Death Cure's" star caused the film's production to be put on hold.
While fans and followers of the Maze Runner series are waiting for any positive indication towards the film's production and release, the producers are still adamant that they will make the "Maze Runner 3" 2018 premiere.
Dylan O'Brien's current medical status is still unknown, according to reports. It was back in March when the production was paused because of the stunt-gone-wrong. Initial reports showed that he sustained a concussion, facial fracture and some lacerations. It is alleged that the information regarding his injuries were lacking and that the actor has sustained more injuries than what was reported. A safety agency called WorkSafeBC, in Canada, stated that O'Brien was pulled to the ground brought about by his own safety vehicle. The report added that the actor was dragged under the vehicle.
The only statement coming from O'Brien was that he was still recovering. WorkSafeBC blames 20th Century Fox for the miss.
"Maze Runner 3" is said to be set in a more future time line. After the Scorching Trials, the story line will center on events that happened a year after Minho was abducted. Director Wes Ball confirmed that they are making a cooler third installment and it will be a different movie. "It's gonna be a different kind of an engine, a different kind of genre almost and a different sort of color palette and terrain," says Ball.
Several months have already passed and the filming has not restarted. The original target date of the film was on Jan. 12, 2018.
