Major spoiler alerts ahead if you have not seen season 4. "Orange is the New Black" season 5 may just get wilder after the death of Samira Wiley's character, Poussey. She was one of the good ones and to die tragically hits chords in the Black Lives Matters movement.
Although the drama has unfolded many human parallelism stories, Litchfield is a platform for multiple character profiles. And one crowd favorite might just be coming back in "Orange is the New Black" season 5. Posts indicated that Lori Petty, who plays Lolly, is excited to return.
The veteran actress has always been vocal about her involvement in the show. She once approached the show runners and asked them personally about why she was never included in the cast. Ultimately, they wrote her in.
When Lolly joined Litchfield, she became more and more "lost" during the season. At the end of OITNB, she exhibited all delusional signs and had to be sent to Psych after killing Aydin. Lolly only killed Aydin to protect Alex but in truth, she did not kill him. Her mental illness told her that she believed she did kill him. It was Alex who finished the job.
And because Litchfield is quite fuzzy with the budget, it is already assumed that Lolly will not get the medical care she needs to address her mental illness. Her condition has been untreated since the beginning.
But is that the last the world saw of Lolly? She is after all still in Psych. Lori Petty's career has always been centered on characters that have gone overboard when it comes to profiles. When asked about her involvement in "Orange is the New Black" season 5, she kept mum about it all. "I can't say for sure, but I absolutely think we will. They are just now filming episode one and you know how we ended Season 4. They have a lot to deal with right now!" Lori Petty
