Jimmy Butler used to be in a lot of trade talks last season. While the buzz has quieted down this season, there are still some talks regarding the star guard and his fate this season.
One of the rumored trade possibilities is a switch with Minnesota for Andrew Wiggins and Zach Levine. As noted by Jobs & Hire, some teams in the Eastern Conference are trying to beef up their rosters to finally topple the Cavs. It seems like the Bulls could be inclined to give up their star wingman if given the right type of deal.
According to Inquistr, the Bulls are looking for the Timberwolves to give up both LaVine and Wiggins in exchange for Butler and Jerian Grant. If fans think that giving up Jimmy Butler for the Bulls is nonsense, considering that the Timberwolves have to give up two rising stars in Wiggins and LaVine would actually make this a fair trade.
Wiggins is a young player who has shown flashes of brilliance during last season. He is very athletic and has shown an improving offensive game. While he is still an obvious downgrade to someone of Butler's caliber, the addition of LaVine will add more firepower to a stale Bulls offense. Zac has shown that he has tremendous upside because of his unparalleled athleticism as well as the ability to get hot fast.
On the other hand, the Minnesota Timberwolves would quickly shed off their "Growing Pains" phase that the team has been stuck in for years now. With Jimmy Butler controlling the offense alongside budding superstar Karl Anthony Towns, the Wolves are almost assured of finally securing a playoff spot.
As CBS Sports noted, Andrew Wiggins has been quickly rising to become a superstar. Don't be surprised if Chicago tries to get him this season.
