Stargate Fans, The proposed "Stargate" movie is postponed indefinitely. Studio wants to pursue the movie despite quality problems.
Delvin stressed that it was looking great for the movie for a couple of month, but after that the show did not look great. However, they have to set it aside first because of all the projects that they have been doing.
io9 reported that the thinking of the studio is what caused the delay. The studio does not care about the quality of the movie, they just want the movie on theaters.
He explained that he wants to give the best quality movie for fans. Delvin refuses to show a movie that he knows will be a screw up.
He explained that if they pursue the movie now, the new movie will ignore all that they have established. It may not eliminate the show but it would be shameful to watch.
The news of the movies first came to light around June 2016 were Variety reported that the "Stargate" movie was meant to be a trilogy. The site reported that to make sure the famous sci-fi franchise gets a movie rebirth it needs to bring back Devlin and Roland Emmerich, another show runner of the franchise.
"Nowadays, studios do not think of movie as sequels or trilogies, they think of it as a cinematic universe. We have been developing Stargate like that and looking for avenues to expand it. The foundation is exactly the same as what we wanted to so but now possibilities are greater," Devlin explained.
Speaking of indefinite delays, the famous anime kid detective show "Detective Conan" also delayed its TV special indefinitely. Jobs and Hire reported that the TV Special title "Detective Conan Episode One: The Great Detective Who Shrank" was re-scheduled to December 12 but now is indefinitely delayed.
The special was meant to be the part of the 20th anniversary of the anime series. It will tell what happened before Shinichi Kudo transformed into the famous kid detective Conan Edogowa. As of to date, there has been no update on the release of both "Stargate" and "Detective Conan."
