The trade market is about to open up and different NBA teams could grab the opportunity to boost their rosters and land a playoff spot. NBA rumors have it that the Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers could be looking to strike a deal before the trade deadline.
The 76ers have been in the rumor mill since the 2016-2017 NBA season started. The franchise has too much depth in its roster which led to NBA rumors that one of its big men could get traded.
According to Sports Illustrated, Nerlens Noel is available and a possible destination for him would be the Portland Trailblazers. There are also other teams where he might be a good fit like the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans.
Joel Embiid recently got injured and there are NBA rumors that the Sixers might have to choose between Embiid and Noel when the trade market opens up. It's obvious that the Sixers need to let go one of its bigs, but the question is who?
Recently, ESPN reported that Monta Ellis would be coming off the bench once he comes back from his injury. Glenn Robinson III has been filling up for his absence and is doing a great job as a starter. Does this make Ellis that odd man out? Now, it appears that the Sixers can acquire Ellis if they can offer either Noel or Embiid in return.
There have been NBA rumors about Ellis being traded to an Eastern Conference team and if that would happen the 76ers would be the best spot for him. He could be the 2 guard the Sixers need in its log-jammed frontcourt.
It's only a few days away when the trade season starts and these NBA rumors may or may not happen. But with the 76ers having a crowded frontcourt, getting Ellis is a good decision.
