The winter finale is Episode 11 of season 7 of "Hawaii Five-0". It is entitled "Ka'ili aku", that's "Snatchback" in English. This is when Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Day Kim) leads the team to save his niece, Sara (Londyn Silzer), who was kidnapped.
This episode is especially relevant to the character of Chin whose relationship with Sara holds special significance. TV Guide tells of how Chin is close to the girl, having no children of his own. Kim was quoted saying, "Sara represents something he's never had in his life. He's never had to take care of someone other than the family that's Five-0."
Aside from the emotions this kidnapping would bring, Chin's life will be in danger, according to Cartermatt. By the end of the episode, Chi makes a decision that will have devastating effects on Chin and Sara as well as the entire "Hawaii Five-0" family. This would set the stage for the big cliffhanger promised by showrunner Peter Lenkov.
Joining Chin in this mini-family reunion is George Takei who plays his Uncle Choi. Also coming back to the series is Duane "Dog" Chapman who appears as himself.
In a separate report, TV Guide mentioned that Alex O'Loughlin had indicated that "Hawaii Five-0" Season 8 might the last one for his Steve McGarett, sparking rumors that the show might get canceled then. Lenkov said the show will definitely move forward after the eight season. In the meantime, there is more to the romance between McGarett and Catherine, contrary to rumors to the contrary.
Also set to return in the second half of "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 is Claire Forlani as profiler Alice Brown. The producers tease that her return is unexpected and this will revisit the arc on the serial killer that was featured earlier in the season. The episode to be shown in February will bring back the Dr. Madison Grey, the erstwhile murderer who had pretended to be a psychiatrist and nearly killed Brown and McGarett.
