Different NBA teams will be making some moves now that the trade season is open. Recently, there are a few NBA trade rumors surrounding the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Milwaukee Bucks. Reports have it that the Timberwolves are looking for a big man and that the Bucks are trying to shop Monroe. It appears that a trade between the two might spark anytime soon.
Fox Sports reported that the Timberwolves are looking to add more depth to its frontcourt. The team is obviously full of young talent with Zach Lavine, Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns in the roster but the problem lies in the second unit. Now, the team is involved in NBA trade rumors and it could be parting ways with Ricky Rubio and Shabazz Muhammad to land a big man.
Monroe has been involved in NBA trade rumors recently simply because there's a log jam in the Bucks frontcourt with John Henson, Jabari Parker and Miles Plumlee in the roster. According to Bleacher Report, the Bucks are just trying to find the right deal for the trade to happen.
With these issues the two teams are facing, NBA trade rumors have surfaced that sending Monroe to the Timberwolves while Rubio and Muhammad go to the Bucks would benefit both teams. Monroe has been averaging 9.3 PPG, 6.5 RPG and 0.5 BLKPG this season and considering he's one of the league's talented big men right now, the numbers aren't enough.
Monroe can come off the bench for Towns where he could provide quality minutes and be the go-to-guy in the second unit. Meanwhile, the Bucks could greatly benefit from Rubio simply because he's a consistent point guard who has good court vision. Muhammad can also provide some range being a spot up 3pt-shooter.
These two teams still have a lot of time to make these NBA trade rumors materialize. The trade deadline is on Feb. 23 and it's still a long way.
