Embrace your inner warrior princess as “Sailor Moon” comes to US theaters this January. “Sailor Moon: Promise of The Rose” would be a movie indeed worth to watch out for anime fans.
“Sailor Moon” fans rejoice as the remake of the anime series and movies makes it on the big screen. According to Anime News Network, Viz Media and Eleven Arts pair up with each other to bring out the ultimate "Sailor Moon" fan theater release. The two animation studios had already planned out a conference screening at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles on Jan. 13. Tickets already went on sale last Thursday. Also, the screening is already confirmed to happen in 300 theaters nationwide in the US.
The “Sailor Moon” screening will be featuring a Q and A with the voice cast and staff. After the screening, they also announced that they will be giving away souvenirs or gifts for the attendees of the premiere as long as supplies last. The theater will feature two types of screening: English dubbed and English subbed. The ones who brought tickets for the English subbed can also witness the Q and A for English dub actors.
Nerd Span also reported that the premiere theater will cater “Sailor Moon”-themed drinks that fans will recognize, freebies and more. Charlene Ingram, Senior Marketing Manager, Animation energetically announced that this is a party that any “Sailor Moon” fan shouldn’t miss. She then concluded that this would be the most fun and best way to celebrate the continuing legacy of “Sailor Moon.”
The “Promise of the Rose” film features "Sailor Moon" and the Sailor Guardians as they set off to battle out the villainous flower-creatures more like plant zombies led by an alien named Fiore, who has a secret past with Tuxedo Kamen.
Per Viz Media, the plot of the film states: “Long before Mamoru found his destiny with Usagi, he gave a single rose in thanks to a lonely boy who helped him recover from the crash that claimed his parents. This long-forgotten friend, Fiore, has been searching the galaxy for a flower worthy of that sweet gesture long ago. The mysterious flower he finds is beautiful, but has a dark side- it has the power to take over planets. To make matters worse, the strange plant is tied to an ominous new asteroid near Earth! Faced with an enemy blooming out of control, it’s up to Sailor Moon and the Sailor Guardians to band together, stop the impending destruction and save Mamoru!”
The good stuff doesn’t just end there, as the screening promises "Make-Up! Sailor Guardians" (Make-Up! Sailor Senshi) will share the premiere night screening alongside “Sailor Moon.”
