Jordan reportedly told the Blade Run Show that the quality of the sneakers have been on a decline over the past several years, receiving tons of negative feedbacks from consumers. The Hall of Famer allegedly said that Jordan Brand will be done by 2015, and he is planning to establish a new business.
"I didn't enter the shoe game to sell anything but the best when it comes to the quality of an athletic shoe and for the past few years I haven't been happy, I refuse to continue any longer," Jordan allegedly said. "Jordan will be done as a brand starting 2015, will I have another clothing venture? Who can predict the future?"
One of Jordan Brand's popular retro model made headlines recently after Philadelphia 76ers guard Tony Wroten almost sustained an injury when his the sole of his Air Jordan sneaker went off.
Rumors suggested that Jordan himself apologized to Wroten about the incident, but Wroten's agent confirmed that the former NBA superstar did not issue an apology.
And if Jordan is serious in discontinuing all Jordan Brand sales, his net worth is expected to be affected greatly.
Forbes recently revealed that Jordan earned $90 million in 2013, and a big portion of his total net worth came from his partnership with Nike.
"Jordan made an estimated $90 million last year thanks to the rich partnership he enjoys with Nike. His 2013 earnings eclipsed those of all other retired or current athletes save boxer Floyd Mayweather," Forbes reported.
