After, the big success of Conor McGregor in his UFC 205 fight, he announces that he will be taking a break. Alongside, he dropped the bomb of expecting a child with his longtime girlfriend, Dee Devlin. Speculation is that this is not a simple break but preparation for an early retirement.
In the last UFC 205, Conor once again showed his ferocious side. He "broke all the records" by winning with Eddie Alvarez, and receiving the highest paid uniform sponsor.
During the prefight, he promised the media of a big announcement, which he didn't let out until the post-fight press conference in New York. He revealed a personal news about his new little family. In a report by Fox Sports McGregor said, "One announcement, I'm going to be a daddy early next year," He added, "It's messing with me head because I don't want to be bringing a child into this."
Having his first child, the historic fighter clearly wants a different life now away from the limelight. The strain of training every day and fighting in Octagon prompted his decision.
Moreover, Hypebeast added, Conor will not go back in the ring unless he is given a partnership in UFC. Specifically, he told, "I need to be set for life." Speculations are apparent, if Conor McGregor is really planning for a break, it may possibly lead to early retirement. That will be cemented if he will obtain a fair share in UFC.
Additionally, planning out for his future family is a big sign that he is ready to end his time in the ring. Yet, nothing is finalized with UFC's new owners, Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell.
