MLB Latest Trade Rumors, News & Updates: Houston Astros Pushing Hard For Chicago White Sox' Jose Quintana

The Chicago White Sox are ready to start over and reshape its team since trading Chris Sale to the Boston Red Sox. The White Sox are now looking to trade one of its players to get some fresh talent. It appears that Jose Quintana is the only available piece that it could shop. Some of the MLB latest trade rumors, news and updates suggest that Quintana might go to the Houston Astros.

According to ESPN, the White Sox have been meeting with other MLB teams about Quintana's availability. Some of the clubs involved in the trade talks were the Washington Nationals, Atlanta Braves and the Houston Astros.

Quintana has greatly increased his value in the trade market following his inclusion in this year's MLB All-Star game. Headlines and Global News reported that his helped a lot in attracting different MLB teams, most especially the Astros.

The Astros have been eyeing Quintana for a while now even before the White Sox announced his availability. Now that he is out there in the market, it's not far for these MLB latest trade rumors to happen.

The 27-year-old leftie could greatly help the Astros since he has been averaging 3.20 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 181 strikeouts in 32 starts this season. He is an asset the Astros can afford since his salary wouldn't go over $38 million in the next four years.

In other MLB latest trade rumors, the Astros were also rumored to acquire Edwin Encarnacion but stopped the chase after offering Carlos Beltran with a 1-year deal. Now, the Astros are focused on adding another pitcher to its roster.

The Nationals could be pushing hard to get Quintana as well but it looks like the Astros could offer much more. It appears the Houston could be the next landing spot for Quintana in the offseason.

If these MLB latest trade rumors would happen, it would be a big plus for the Astros. But the big question now is if the Astros would pull the trigger.
